Herbys is part of a Hull based family business which was launched in 1984 by former Shipping Clerk, Tony Burr
His aim was to bring good quality, continental style food to Hull.
Initially Herby established the first delicatessen on Newland Avenue which proved to be a very sucessfull and thriving shop serving both the local community and people from the surrounding areas who came in to see all of the continental salamis, cheeses and home cooked meats available.

AND CAN OFFER HERBYS DELICIOUS FOODS DIRECT TO YOUR HOME OR OFFICE
Before long the business moved to bigger premises within the busy shopping center of Hull onto
Ferensway....which also housed a Continental Cafe, In Store Bakery, Sandwich take-Away, Pizza and Ice
Cream Parlour, High Class Butchers, Herbys was the only stockist of Twinings Tea and Taylors Coffee in
Hull.
Eventually in 1993 another shop opened within the Princes Quay shopping center and then also on
Holderness road in Hull.
Througout our 26 Years of trading we have prided ourselves in providing good quality food to the people
of Hull hopefully encouraging people to try something new along the way.
Herbys is still going strong today (although a little smaller!) and is run by two of Tony's Daughters Alison
and Michelle and a good team of long serving staff.
Although unfortunately the Ferensway shop had to close down in January of 2010 due to difficult trading
times on Ferensway
The Princes Quay and Holderness Road shops are still gong strong and continue to provide good Home
Cooked Food, Freshly Made Salads, a Variety of Sandwiches, Paninis, Jacket Potatoes, Salad trays and Daily 'meal deals'.
Herbys also offer a fully Professional Catering Service for all of your Business or Private Needs.
We provide Superb Quality Food prepared from our own Delis, we have exstensive menus to suit all
tastes.
